Axie Infinity teases new Web3 game as NFT outlook turns positive

Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis has unveiled Atia’s Legacy, a new MMO set in the Axie universe, marking the next evolution of its Web3 gaming ecosystem. The game, teased in a newly released trailer, promises enhanced 3D combat, interactive mini-games, and a farming simulator, incorporating lessons learned over seven years of blockchain game development.

Sky Mavis is also launching an NFT-based referral program, rewarding players with Axie Infinity’s native token, AXS, for successful referrals. The company plans to roll out Atia’s Legacy in phases, with play-tests expected in 2025.

The announcement comes amid a shifting regulatory landscape for NFTs, with the SEC recently closing investigations into OpenSea and Yuga Labs—moves seen as positive signs for the industry.
