BAYC leads NFT sales as CryptoPunks cool down after historic sale
Despite a 19% decline, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) maintained its dominance in the NFT industry's sales ranking on Friday, topping daily sales with a total of US$1.45 million. Yuga Labs' Ethereum-based collection continues to attract significant attention and transactions.
Following closely behind BAYC, NodeMonkes, a Bitcoin-based collection, secured the second-highest sales total of the day, reaching US$1.3 million.
Solana's Froganas collection experienced a notable surge in sales, increasing by 57.70% to US$1.19 million. This boost allowed Froganas to enter the top 10 sales rankings for the first time this week.
Meanwhile, Mythos' DMarket witnessed a 10.44% rise in sales, totaling US$1 million. Additionally, DMarket led the top 10 in terms of transactions, with 39,317 transactions representing a 7.92% increase.
On the contrary, Ethereum's Pudgy Penguins faced a significant decline, with sales dropping by 65.19% to US$877,237. Transactions for Pudgy Penguins also decreased by 66.67%.
CryptoPunks, a heavyweight in the Ethereum ecosystem, experienced a substantial decrease in sales, plummeting by 95.75% to US$720,652.58. However, despite the drop in sales, CryptoPunks maintained its position within the top 10 rankings, although it fell to the eighth spot after a historic sale of one of its NFTs, CryptoPunk #7804, which sold for US$16.38 million on Wednesday.
